Small Business Lending Fund
In July 2011, First Bank of Charleston began participation in the Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF).
The SBLF is a program of the U.S. Treasury that was made available only to community banks. It is designed to boost lending to small businesses by providing participating banks with capital and liquidity. In particular, the SBLF program targets commercial, industrial, owner-occupied real estate, and agricultural-based lending to qualifying small businesses, which include businesses with less than $50 million in annual revenue, and promotes outreach to women-owned, veteran-owned and minority-owned businesses.
First Bank of Charleston participates in SBLF because it aligns with our community bank model, in support of reaching out to individuals and businesses, lending, and expanding our footprint. First Bank was founded on a strategy of lending money and extending credit especially to small businesses who understand the value of relationships.
As a Charleston community bank, we are transparent about our intentions and have a track record for doing what we say we will do. As always, we will continue to help businesses grow and remain committed to the communities we serve. Stop by and visit with us about your small business needs.

Important Information About Procedures For Opening A New Account
To help the government to fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
